Is it safe to use essential oils in a home nebulizer?

Question by tx30323@sbcglobal.net: Is it safe to use essential oils in a home nebulizer?
I have a nebulizer that you use a device in your mouth to breath in and is it safe to use that kind of home nebulizer with essential oils. I am not discussion about aromatherapy.
I was thinking of using peppermint or eucalyptus. I have heard of combining the two. I know essential oils are very strong and I have asthma and don't want to do more harm to my lungs.

The use of essential oils IS aromatherapy. Which oils are you thinking of using? Theoretically, you could use eucalyptus oil instead of ventolin in a nebulizer but I have never tried it so I'd be a bit wary.
